Location: Aston, Birmingham
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 per annum.
We have a new exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team based in Aston. The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week Monday – Friday.
You will need to support our Head of Finance and prepare the monthly management accounts of the YMCA Group and its subsidiary. This will involve preparing financial reports, variance analyses and balance sheets. You will need to be competent in interrogating and monitoring the accounts when required.
A keen eye for detail and spotting trends in the accounts will assist you in preparing and completing the reconciliations between the management accounts and our accounting system. An understanding of VAT processes will be essential. You will regularly meet with budget holders.

Engagement Officer – FIXED TERM
Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working on a rota in line with the business needs. (Evenings and weekends will be required)
Salary: £18,833.00 per annum, fixed term until 30th June 2018
We are now recruiting for an Engagement Officer to join our friendly Housing & Support team based at our site in Erdington. The successful candidate will join us on a fixed term basis until 30th June 2018.
Our Engagement Officers are responsible for developing and maximising the potential, personal growth and development of our tenants. You will have your own caseload of tenants to support and guide in regards to maintaining their tenancies and housing management to achieve their aspirations of independent living. You will need to have a flexible and solution orientated approach to engaging and supporting our tenants to effectively access and implement a programme of support within the Supporting People framework. You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks ranging from assisting in the processing and assessment of applications to be housed at the scheme to supporting tenants in developing their life and social skills.
To excel in this role, experience of working with people who are homeless or at risk of losing their accommodation is essential. You will need experience in housing management or supported housing and be able to deal with stressful situations. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, question and influence when needed. A knowledge of Safeguarding practices and an understanding of the support needs of tenants will be beneficial.
