Deputy Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring or established Deputy Manager at Hand in Hand Nursery. Initially as maternity cover, the role will suit an enthusiastic, skilled practitioner looking for a first Deputy role or an established Deputy looking for a fresh challenge. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of nursery practices and procedures and a passion for progressing children’s learning and development. They will have an in-depth knowledge of the EYFS, be educated to at least level 3 and be able to demonstrate an ability to forge excellent relationships with parents, staff, children and external agencies. Strong leadership skills are essential for this role.

Hand in Hand Nursery is a modern setting based in Erdington Birmingham, run by YMCA Birmingham; an ethical employer whose ethos is centred upon supporting children and families to live life in all its fullness.

Hours: 35 per week

Rate of Pay: £8.20 per hour

Service User Involvement Officer (Support)

YMCA Birmingham is a Christian charity working with people, especially the young, regardless of faith, race, ability or gender.  We provide accommodation and support services to single people, many of whom are young, who have experienced or have been at risk of experiencing homelessness.  We own or manage over 220 units of accommodation across Birmingham with more units in the pipeline.

As Service User Involvement Officer, the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our residents who are seeking support or advice on user involvement.  You will facilitate, co-ordinate and encourage user led involvement, ensuring that it is constructive and meaningful.

You will have extensive experience of working with service users and will be used to running user led forums and consultation meetings.  You will have knowledge of the Supporting People Framework and National Outcomes Framework in relation to Service User Involvement.

This is a full time position based in Birmingham, 37.5 hours per week, offering a salary of £19,000 per annum.
