Our Kingstanding nursery raises over £1,000 for Children in Need

November 17, 2015

Sunshine Nursery in Kingstanding was able to give £1,370 to the BBC’s Children in Need appeal this year after holding a sponsored walk in the grounds of nearby Sundridge Primary School.

It was an all-ages affair with 35 children between 10 months and four years taking part, as well as the nursery’s staff, supported by parents and grandparents.

Nursery manager Paula Kelland said: “It was a real community feel with families joining us for our walk. We chose Children in Need because everywhere, children deserve to be valued and cared for and we know that the money raised will help make lives better.”

Alan Fraser, CEO of YMCA Birmingham said: ”Our vision is about helping young people lead the most fulfilling life as possible. Our nurseries allow us to help young children get a great start in life.”

Sunshine Nursery received a ‘good’ rating from its Ofsted inspection in October, with particular praise for our team’s creativity in engaging children in learning activities. The inspector also commented on how children were quickly able to feel emotionally secure in the positive environment.

Sunshine Day Nursery is open 8:00am til 6:00pm daily at Sundridge Children’s Centre, 801 Queslett Road, Kingstanding, Birmingham, B43 7DS. 0121 360 6628
