YMCA Heart of England (formerly YMCA Birmingham) Training and Education Department has been successfully reaccredited to the matrix Standard, demonstrating the high quality of Apprenticeships and Qualifications they provide to Housing Associations, Councils, and fellow YMCA’s.
YMCA Heart of England has been successfully delivering Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Qualifications since 2012, and Housing Apprenticeships since 2017.
The matrix Standard is the Department for Education’s international quality standard for ensuring the delivery of high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG). It is relevant for organisations that provide IAG either as their sole purpose, or as part of their service offering.

I am extremely proud of the way the team has responded during the Covid-19 pandemic, and this recognition has made it worthwhile. We are always looking at ways of constantly improving the service that we provide to our apprentices and learners and feel that this is a culmination of 12 months of hard work and dedication.”
“We have also had a very difficult year from a staffing perspective, with staff leaving, being furloughed, and a complete restructure of the team. We now have a virtually new team who come with a wealth of experience in apprenticeships, and we have now added to our portfolio to include; Business Administration, Customer Service, Team Leader and Management Apprenticeships so we can offer an organisation a more complete apprenticeship service”.
